Conversion happens in your browser, so your images are never uploaded or stored anywhere.
Common conversions
- PNG to JPG: makes screenshots and graphics much smaller for email. Transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose.
- JPG to PNG: useful when a website or app only accepts PNG, or when you want to edit an image without further quality loss.
- WebP to JPG or PNG: opens images saved from websites in older apps that do not support WebP.
- JPG or PNG to WebP: gives the smallest files for websites, often 25% to 35% smaller than JPG.
- SVG to PNG: turns a vector logo or icon into a normal image. Choose 2× or 4× for crisp results on high-resolution screens and in print.
Which format should I pick?
Choose JPG for photos, PNG for logos, screenshots and anything with transparency, and WebP when you want the smallest file and it will be used online.
What about HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Most browsers cannot open HEIC files yet. Safari on a Mac or iPhone can, so the converter works there. On other devices, set your iPhone camera to Most Compatible in Settings, or share the photo as JPG first.
Animated GIFs are converted using their first frame.
Image Converter FAQs
Answers about formats, quality and privacy.
Are my images uploaded to a server?+
No. Your images are converted by your browser on your own device and are never sent to our servers.
Does converting reduce quality?+
Converting to PNG keeps every pixel. Converting to JPG or WebP uses compression; at quality 85 to 90 the difference is very hard to see.
Can I convert many images at once?+
Yes. Add up to 30 images of any supported format and download them all together as a ZIP file.
Why is my PNG bigger than the original JPG?+
PNG is a lossless format, so photos saved as PNG are usually larger. That is normal. Use JPG or WebP if you want a small file.
Can I convert HEIC to JPG?+
Only in browsers that can read HEIC, such as Safari. In other browsers the file is marked as unsupported.
