Date Calculator
Count the days, weeks, months and working days between two dates, or add and subtract days, weeks, months and years from any date.
How to count days between two dates
Pick a start date and an end date. The calculator shows the total number of days, the same span in years, months and days, and how many of those days are weekdays (Monday to Friday) and weekend days. It handles leap years automatically.
Should I include the end date?
By default the calculator counts the days between the dates, the way most people count an age or a deadline: from 1 January to 2 January is one day. Tick Include the end date when both days should count, for example a hotel stay, a leave request or an event that runs from the first date to the last. This adds one day to the total.
Working days
Working days are Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are skipped. Public holidays vary by country and are not removed, so subtract any holidays that fall in your range yourself.
Adding months and years
Months have different lengths, so adding one month to 31 January gives 28 February (or 29 February in a leap year). When the same day does not exist in the target month, the calculator uses the last day of that month, which is how banks and most contracts handle it.
Common uses
- Days until a birthday, holiday, exam or wedding
- Notice periods, payment terms and project deadlines (“30 working days from today”)
- How long you have worked somewhere, or how many days a subscription has left
- Visa stays and travel durations
Date Calculator FAQs
Answers about counting days, working days and month lengths.
How many days are there between two dates?+
Enter both dates and the calculator gives the exact number of days. It does not count the end date unless you tick Include the end date.
How do I calculate working days?+
The working days result counts Mondays to Fridays between your two dates. To add working days to a date, use the Add or subtract tool and choose Working days.
Are public holidays excluded?+
No. Holidays differ by country and region, so subtract any that fall within your dates.
What happens when I add a month to 31 January?+
You get the last day of February, because February has no 31st. This matches how most banks and contracts count months.
Does it handle leap years?+
Yes. Every calculation uses the real calendar, so 29 February is counted in leap years.
