Age Calculator
Find your exact age in years, months and days, the total days you have lived, the weekday you were born and a countdown to your next birthday.
How your age is counted
The calculator counts whole years first, then whole months, then the remaining days. This is the way people normally state an age, and the way most forms ask for it.
Months have different lengths, so when the day of the month in the second date is smaller than your birth day, the calculator borrows the number of days in the previous month. For example, from 29 February 2000 to 16 October 2026 is 26 years, 7 months and 17 days.
Totals in months, weeks, days and hours
The totals count every day between the two dates, so leap years are included automatically. Total hours assume 24 hours per day and do not adjust for daylight saving time changes.
Leap-day birthdays
If you were born on 29 February, your birthday only appears on the calendar every four years. In other years this calculator counts your next birthday as 28 February. Legal rules differ by country: some treat a leap-day birthday as 28 February in common years, others as 1 March. Check local rules if the exact date matters, for example for a driving licence or retirement.
Ages on other dates
Change the “Age on” date to find an age on any day: how old someone will be at a future event, how old they were when something happened, or whether they meet an age limit on a deadline.
Age Calculator FAQs
Answers about exact ages, leap years and dates.
Why do different age calculators show different months and days?+
Months have 28 to 31 days, so there are several ways to count leftover days. This calculator uses the common method of borrowing the length of the previous month, which matches how most people and official forms count.
Can I calculate an age on a future date?+
Yes. Change the “Age on” date to any date after the date of birth, such as a birthday, graduation or retirement date.
Is the time of birth included?+
No. Ages are calculated from dates only, so total hours are an estimate based on whole days.
Is my date of birth saved?+
No. The calculation runs in your browser, and nothing you enter is sent or stored.
